Spicy Cauliflower(Masala Gobi)


Ingredients for serving 4

Spicy Cauliflower(Masala Gobi)1/2 kg Cauliflower Florets
1 tbsp Poppy seeds
2 tbsp Cashew-nuts
1 tbsp Ginger&Garlic paste
2 no. Green chilies chopped
50 ml Oil
250gm Onions grated
200gm Tomatoes blanched, chopped
1/2 tsp Turmeric pwd.
1 tsp Coriander pwd.
1 tsp Cumin pwd.
1 tsp Red chilies pwd.
1/2 cup Beaten curd
Water and salt as required
Chopped coriander leaves


Method


  • In a bowl, add 4 cups water with 2 tsp salt, Put cauliflower in it for 30 min. Drain water.
  • Grind together poppy seeds and cashew-nut into a paste by adding little water.
  • Heat oil in a casserole about 2 min. add onions and fry till golden brown.
  • Add g&g paste, turmeric, coriander, cumin and red chili pwd. and season with salt according to your taste approx. 2 tsp. coo for a min. now add tomatoes cook till they are pulpy, stirring occasionally.
  • Add curd 1 tbsp at a time stirring continuously fry till oil shows separately( about 2-3 min).
  • Add cauliflower, stir fry about 5 min. add 1/2 water stir. Cover with the lid and cook for 4-5 min. on medium heat.
  • Now add the cashew-nut paste, and cook for another 2-3 min. stirring gently.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves, and serve hot.
