Gajar Halwa (Carrot Pudding)



Gajar Halwa (Carrot Pudding)Ingredient___ serving for 10-15


1 kg   Red carrot Peeled and grated
75 ml  Milk
250 gm Mava
300 gm  Sugar
100 ml Ghee(clarified butter)
10-15 no. Almonds sliced
10 gm Pistachio chopped
 1 tsp  Cardamom pwd.

Method

  • Heat the casserole on high heat add carrots and milk cook for 7- 8 minutes with lid. 
  • Now add the sugar into it  cook till liquid dries up(approx. 15 min.)stirring occasionally.
  • Add mava and ghee give a mix, cook till ghee show separately(approx. 10 min.) Stirring constantly, now add cardamom pwd. and give a mix.
  • Garnish with chopped and sliced, pistachio and almonds. 
  • Serve hot or at room temperature( I would prefer at room temperature which gives more flavor and taste ).
